Suey Stockton-George will coach the Stockton & Northern Districts Cricket Clubs inaugural foray into the Newcastle District Cricket Association's Women's competition.
Stockton-George who hails from the United Kingdom where she played elite level county cricket and also elite level football for Liverpool FC. As well as being a very talented and versatile cricketer who had the ability to bat left and right-handed, Suey also held many key administrative roles including being Secretary for Liverpool FC Ladies.
Club President Marco Caponecchia was thrilled with the acquisition of Stockton-George – “we are thrilled that Suey has accepted the role of Coach for our first women’s cricket team. To have recruited a coach with the skills and experience of Suey represents a huge opportunity for the club.”
In 2021 the club successfully ran a Friday Night Women's Cricket program at Lynn Oval but the 2022-23 season will be the first time a women's team has represented Stockton & Northern Districts and there is no doubt that the Friday Night Women's Cricket and it overwhelming success has been the precursor to entering a team in the Newcastle competition.
