Stockton & Northern Districts Cricket Club Congratulates Adrian Chad on Newcastle Representative Coaching Appointment
Stockton & Northern Districts Cricket Club is pleased to congratulate Adrian Chad on his appointment as Head Coach of the Newcastle Representative Team for the 2025–26 season.

Chad succeeds former Stockton & Northern Districts player Shane Burley, who has stepped aside following more than a decade of distinguished service in the role. Burley’s tenure was the most successful in Newcastle cricket history, highlighted by six consecutive NSW Country Championship titles.
A former Newcastle and NSW Country Representative cricketer, Chad brings extensive playing and coaching experience to the position. In addition to his representative career, he has been a key contributor to Newcastle Cricket and Cricket NSW pathway programs, playing a central role in developing emerging talent across the region.
Chad retired from Newcastle representative duties at the conclusion of the 2023–24 season and now transitions into the head coaching role with a strong appreciation for the traditions, culture and expectations of Newcastle cricket.

“Adrian’s appointment is a reflection of both his knowledge and understanding of the game and his passion for Newcastle cricket,” Stockton & Northern Districts Cricket Club President Robert Matthews said. “We are excited for Adrian and are confident he will continue to uphold the Newcastle's proud representative culture and continue the recent success of the program.”
Stockton & Northern Districts Cricket Club extends its gratitude to Shane Burley for his outstanding contribution to Newcastle cricket and congratulates Adrian Chad on his appointment. The club wishes him every success in leading Newcastle into the 2025–26 campaign.
