Seagulls win two from two but miss finals

The Summer Bash T20 day at Lynn Oval couldnt have gone better from the Seagulls with a big first up win over Belmont Whips. The Seagulls posted a very competitive 139 in tough conditions after three days of rain with Jared Humphreys top scoring with a stylish 42. In response Belmont started strongly but were quickly reigned in but the Stockton bowlers with skipper Nick Foster claiming 3 for 11 as Belmont were bundled out for 116.

The second match of the day for the Seagulls was against the Maitland Flood and after losing the toss and having the bowl first the Stockton bowlers and fielders put on a dominant display with Maitland on managing to scrape together 96 from their 20 overs with Paul Kelly staring with the ball taking 3 for 15. The Seagulls opening partnership of Keith Moody and Nick Foster made light work of the total, chasing down the required runs without loss. Keith Moody continuing his fine summer with an unbeaten 66.

Unfortunately despite the strong showing the gulls failed to qualify for the quarter finals.
